Six Pack Abs – How Can I Get Them To Show?

You’re getting disappointed, and it’s hardly surprising, because you have worked on those six pack abdominals regularly, and they are still not defined. How many more crunches do i have to do to get them defined enough to show as a perfect set of six pack abs?

First of all, you are not the only one that this has happened to, there are a lot of people in this situation, so don’t give up yet, and with a few adjustments, your abs and six pack will be defined very soon. Despite our best intentions, which can be seen by the number of crunches we perform daily, some people just cannot get their perfect abs to show. You are sure that your abdominal muscles are much stronger, nevertheless they still don’t show, so what exactly is happening? Well, what you need to do first is to make absolutely sure that it is your abs that you are targeting in your exercises, an also check that you are not rushing through them. For many workout enthusiasts, it is how many they can do in a fixed time that is important, but that lowers the level of the exercise. To benefit more, you need to hold each contraction of the abs for a few seconds, and if you are trying to beat the latest record of number of the crunches in two minutes, then you are not able to do this, and the crunches will not be as beneficial for you. The body fat ratio is an indicator to tell you how much body fat you have, and the higher the number, the more layers of fat your body has. The more fat you have, the more layers of fat are covering your abdominal muscles, so if you have been doing your exercises the right way, your abs will be well defined but just hidden by too much fat.

Now then, if too much is the cause of your abs to not show as great six pack abs what are your options? You can see that you need to lose some of those layers of fat, and crunches alone will not achieve this for you. You must do some cardio exercises, to lose some weight. Don’t panic this doesn’t automatically mean that you have to work even longer in the gym each day. You will probably reduce the time you spend on your abs crunches, with more time doing cardio. Combine this with eating a little less, you will be well on your way to losing some fat. Make sure your diet is healthy for you, and not over doing the drinks. Occasional drinks are fine, but drinking alcohol regularly is just providing your body with too many calories from an unnecessary source.

So, to summarize, exercise properly, lower your body fat ratio and your 6 pack abs will be defined and showing like those on others you’ve been jealously watching.

Looking For Your Six Pack Abs, But Can’t Find Them?

It might not seem fair to you, you have worked and worked on those abs as often as others at your, and you’re doing lots of repetitions, so why can’t you see your abs? It can be extremely annoying, that is certain, and it seems so unjust that others have the perfect abs while yours are still no where to be seen. Why is this, and what can you do about it?

Well to begin with, you need to realize that everyone is different, we consume different quantities of food and drinks of differing types, and our body’s process it differently. That’s why we have all shapes and sizes of people, even in the same household.

Then, you need to be 100% sure that you are actually doing all the exercises the right way. Speed is not a factor here, and you should not be trying to do as many crunches as you can in one minute. You need to be certain you are accurately targeting the abdominal muscles – if you aren’t, you’ll never get a six pack. So slow your exercises down, and make sure it is actually your abdominals doing the work. If not, correct your method, and pay close attention as you repeat them in the future to make sure you don’t slip back into bad habits.

Next, while you are at the gym, see what your body fat ratio is. It should be in the low teens, ideally around twelve. Anything higher will explain why your abs are not looking like six packs. The body fat ratio tells you the amount of fat that your body has. The higher the number the more fat your body has, and the more fat, the harder it is for those abdominal muscles to stand out from under those layers of fat. Sounds right, right?

Ok, so if your body fat ration is too high, what it is telling you is that you have to get rid of some of those layers of fat. To do this, you need to do more than crunches and abs exercises. You need to do some cardio exercises too, and watch what you eat. Perhaps you need to eat less and run more. You know what I mean. Once you lose a few pounds, your abdominals muscles will be able to stand out more, and in time, as your body fat ration gets to the ideal level, your ripped abdominals will be showing through clearly defined, and you will no longer have to be concerned about where your
perfect abs are, as they will be there for all to see.

Now when it comes to abdominal-specific exercises, another mistake most people make is mindlessly pumping away with hundreds of crunches and other meaningless abs exercises that barely give your abdominals much resistance to work against. If you want to actually develop your abdominals to the best extent possible, don’t waste your time with exercises that you can do more than 20 or 25 reps… that means you are definitely not doing an exercise that provides enough resistance to the abs. Abs exercises that get you to do around 6-15 reps are the kinds of exercises you need to continue to keep doing to get six pack abs.

Some good examples of these higher intensity abdominal exercises are hanging leg raises or knee raises using a “pelvic curl up”, or an exercise like lying hip thrusts. Instead of doing 50-100 crunches in a sitting, try to do just 2-3 proper hanging leg raises.  You’ll be surprised to learn that the exercise with the lesser rep is the more intense workout for you!

The Three Key Exercises To Get Flat Abs

Looking for better results with your abs exercises? Try to change up your routine. This article is intended to get you on your way to get perfect abs through using a workout that provides high intensity stabilization techniques. Changing up an abs exercise routine can help you produce a higher intensity work out which is going to speed up your results.

I’m going to show you an example today of one of my favorite ab workouts that doesn’t include any direct ab exercises at all. This work out it set up in a tri-set format (similar to a super set).

Here goes:

1a. Renegade Dumbbell Rows

1b. Front Squats with Barbell

1c. Mountain Climbers on Floor

A good rep scheme to use with this could be 3-4 sets of 8 reps for each exercise, or more sets for less reps, such as 5 sets of 5 reps of each exercise. For mountain climbers, your sets would be time intervals (every 30 seconds).

Starting position for the renegade dumbbell is just like a pushup position.  With only difference being is that you have your hands on two dumbbells. You then row one dumbbell up while stabilizing your body with the other arm. Then switch arms by bringing the dumbbell back to the ground and rowing the other one this time using your other arm to stabilize your body. It is when you are stabilizing your abdominals are being worked. Even though you aren’t targeting your abs directly, you’ll feel it in the morning on your midsection core area.

If you are wondering how front squats are performed, they are done similar to back squats.  The only difference being that you position the barbell in front of your body on the front of your shoulders unlike in back squats when you rest them on the upper part of your back. Set the barbell on your shoulders with your arms crossed and push your firsts into the bar against your shoulders, keeping your elbows out in front. This takes a little practice at first, so you will want to seek a professional trainer at your gym to help you with the form. Front squats require extreme stabilization strength from the abs due to the barbell weight being shifted to the front of the body instead of the back. Even though this is mostly a leg exercise, you’ll feel this one in the abs big time!

Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are moving in under your chest and then back out to starting position. It simulates climbing a mountain, hence the name for this workout, mountain climbers. Mountain climbers is one of the best way to lose belly fat as it burns off body fat.

These are tri-sets so after doing an exercise, rest only for about 30 seconds, and then go on to the next one immediately. Rest about 1-2 minutes after completing each “tri-set” before repeating.

In spite of the fact that there are no direct abs exercises involved, this is one of the best abs exercises you can do. You’ll see what I mean after you try it!
